Lotus of Hope - Changing children's lives worldwide every day. At the Lotus of Hope our main mission is to engage at risk children and single mothers to realize their educational and career potential and contribute to the stability, safety and well being of their community. We envision a world with equal opportunity to education for every child by creating lasting solutions to right to education, poverty and social injustice. To us life of all children is of equal value and every child has a right to a brighter and better tomorrow through equal access to schooling. Created a few years back by a group of accomplished, young international women united by one vision; to make life better for the future generations to come by eliminating suffering and exploitation caused by illiteracy worldwide. Each one of the directors working in a different field, united by one passion we seek to make a difference together.
“The right to education is unique in that it empowers the individual to exercise other civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, attaining a life of dignity, while ensuring a brighter future for all, free from want and from fear.“ UNESCO Today we are still facing an increasing global problem, living in a world where free and compulsory primary education is sadly not available to all. Practice and research has showed that learning fundamental skills in reading, writing and numeracy enables youngsters to better direct and control their lives. Problems prevailing today are lack of resources, unequal access to services, and absence of adequate mechanisms that could ensure quality in training and provision of equal education to all through access to qualified education personnel. It is hard for single parents with no background to support their children and as a result they are not good role models and can't provide for their household. Part of our scheme is to give such parents and guardians a skill so they can go out and seek employment which would allow them to become responsible and provide for their families, allowing the children to go to school. Building skills that last a lifetime Our goal is to enable the children to complete their education and to equip each one of them with the skills they need to function as responsible, independent and balanced members of society in the context of their own families and communities.
